Baird shocked by reality, orders its compliance

Saturday, February 02, 2008

It seems Baird has been shocked to find his personal opinions clashing with reality, and like we've seen many times before, the gov't has taken steps to ensure that truth conforms to Conservative Government philosophy.

All scientists at Environment Canada must now use "approved lines" when dealing with the media, and all media queries first directed to the government:

"The new policy, which went into force in recent weeks and sent a chill through the department research divisions, is designed to control the department's media message and ensure there are no "surprises" for Environment Minister John Baird and senior management when they open the newspaper or turn on the television, according to documents."

Surprises. Scientists saying it's hot outside when the government thinks it's cold; or that it's windy when it should be clear. In fact, why don't we just take to manufacturing the weather, like the Chinese?

(Every day, Harper's Conservatives seem to have more and more in common with dictatorial Communists, don't they?).

The longer this gov holds out the more their Bushness comes out, which is a good thing that will hopefully open the eyes of and scare the crap out of all the conservative soft support.

pro torture, anti reality, anti free speach, anti nuclear safety and harpers attempt at creating a cult of no personality with his Gallery to himself. What's next "Harper Day", he starts wearing a Napoleon hat and a uniform with lots of gold braid. Maybe Baird will declare an ice age so Alberta can lead the fight to end global cooling.

Baird is probably delusion enough to thinks the Leafs will win the cup,

Not even like the Chinese, Alberta insurance companies have been manufacturing weather for years, seeding the clouds to make it hail away from major urban centers.

So they're closer to the Chinese than I thought. Fantastic.

LoW - dead-on - did you read about scores of House of Commons pictures being replaced by portraits of Harper? Quoth the raven:

This ongoing personality cult; these anti-science measures (including the firing of the science advisor) simply make the government seem threatened by reality.

I'm more afraid that average Canadians aren't noticing this.

The Chinese probably got the idea from us.
