In the spirit of Auld Lang Syne, which is "Scots" for "days gone by" - you ought to take a look at the scots' wikipedia. After working in Glasgow amongst seemingly incomprehensible parlance, I am so much the better informed after diving into this:

Spellin an Grammar page - that's my favourite, but this page is the gateway to the rest of it. The page reads like a Scottish characature, and could easily be mistaken for a joke, but this is the real deal. No, really.
